Toilet Stop

The biggest potential to save water is when you flush the toilet!

With the AquaClic-Toilet Water Stop you can manually dispense exactly as much water as is actually needed.
It allows you to flush the WC for as long as needed. Water flow stops when you take your finger off the button. This way you decide how much water to use. Instead of flushing the entire contents of the cistern (which can contain 12 litres of water), you can use just 2 or 3 litres.
On average, you could save around 10 litres per flush! This significantly reduces toilet water consumption to that of a modern 3/6 litre cistern.
With the simple but cleverly thought out Toilet Water Stop…you are able to retrofit your toilet in a couple of minutes

Save water with every flush with the WC Stop
The installation is very simple:
  • Remove the cistern top (you may have to unscrew the ring around the button)
  • Drop the Toilet Water Stop into the overflow tube.

NB: This installation guide is for toilets with a flush-handle on the side of the cistern or a single push button on top of the cistern.

One weight generally is enough in newer cisterns, however with older ones we suggest that you hang the second weight onto the first part of the Toilet Water Stop.
The AquaClic Toilet Water Stop is also suitable for toilets with dual-flush systems. Use it if the small flush doesn't release enough water and the large flush releases too much or if you're unsure whether the guests and kids actually use the water saving smaller flush .....

Note: The Toilet Water Stop is unsuitable for high hanging cisterns.
The Toilet Water Stop is made from untreated brass, which can, over its lifetime, tarnish black. However, this is normal and does not have any negative effect on the water or the cistern in any way.
Should I put Brick in toilet Cistern?

Questions and Answers:

Put A Brick Into The Cistern?
Often it is recommended to place a few plastic bottles or a brick into the cistern, in order to take up space and fill the cistern with less water...
This makes no sense at all! The AquaClic WC-Stop allows you to dispense as much water as is necessary when flushing. This means that all of the water in the cistern can be used if it is needed.
If you were to put a brick into the cistern, you might not always have enough water to adequately flush the toilet. This means you may have to flush more than once and wait longer while the cistern refills with water.

 New Smaller Cistern?
Should I install a new cistern, which holds just 6 litres of water instead of my old 12 litre cistern?

NO, this amount of water may not always be sufficient to adequately flush the toilet.

The easiest and cheaper way to save water is to keep your old cistern and install the AquaClic WC-Stop.

Residue and deposits?
There has been a build-up of residue and deposits since I installed the WC-Stop.
If a toilet does not get used very often, then it is possible for residue to build up because each flush uses less water when a WC-Stop has been installed.
Cleaning the bowl with a toilet brush, even without cleaning agent, as well as flushing the complete contents of the cistern once in a while can help.

Blocked drains?
I've heard that saving water can block up the sewage system because not enough water is being flushed through the pipes and it is more difficult for sewage plants to effectively treat waste water.
Today's water usage is approximately 8 times as much as it was 2 generations ago, for which the sewerage systems were designed and on which today's systems are still based.
The sewerage plants can treat waste water more effectively if it is more concentrated.
