Frequently Asked Question’s For Aqua Clic
Will Aqua Clic fit on my taps?
Yes, due to the black universal adapter Aqua Clic fit’s on every tap which has a thread. That is our promise! Where there is a thread on a tap, you can screw on an Aqua Clic!
If you need an adaptor, Aqua Smart will send one to you free of charge.

How do I know my tap has a thread?

Nearly every tap has a thread. It’s been hidden by the aerator. Unscrew the aerator to see if your tap has an outside or an inside thread.
My taps are very old, can I still fit an Aqua Clic on the tap?

If there is an aerator, no problem.
Taps older than 30 years, with a rectangular outlet, usually do not have threads. You need to update the tap to fit an Aqua Clic.

I tried to unscrew my aerator, but I can’t!
Wrap a piece of fabric around the aerator and using a pair of pliers, gently unscrew the aerator clockwise.
(See page 29 in the booklet)

I tried with a pair of pliers, but can’t get the aerator off the tap.

Limestone and calcium build up can work like glue, sticking the aerator to the tap. Soak a piece of fabric in vinegar and wrap it around the aerator and the end of the tap. Leave for about 15 minutes, then try again.
If you are still not able to unscrew the aerator, leave the fabric on for a bit longer or even overnight.
(See page 34 in the booklet)

I can’t screw my Aqua Clic on the tap because both have an external thread.
Remove the black universal adaptor from the Aqua Clic, now screw the Aqua Clic on to the tap. (See page 34 in the booklet)
I can’t screw my Aqua Clic into the internal thread of my tap, even though I did as it shows on page 29 of the booklet.
Using your finger, check if the old gasket is removed. If the gasket is still in the tap, remove it and then screw the Aqua Clic into the tap.
My tap is smaller / bigger than the Aqua Clic. What now?

Some taps require a special adaptor.  Aqua Clic, or your Aqua Clic distributor, supplies these free of charge!
(See page 30 in the booklet)

I recently bought a new tap with a flow rate of 9lt per minute, should I replace this aerator with an Aqua Clic?
Yes. Aqua Clic water saver uses only 3 to 5lt per minute, depending on the insert and your choice of Aqua Clic. Even with the 5lt insert you will save nearly another 50% of water and over 65% with the 3lt insert.
Is there any maintenance to do?

This is unlikely. If the water flow feels different, unscrew the Aqua Clic and pull it apart. Wipe the blue filter clean, put the Aqua Clic back together and screw it back on the tap. (See page 30 in the booklet)
Will the Aqua Clic clog up with limestone residue like normal aerators?
With the extra big hole and the slick surface of the filter, Aqua Clic takes 12 times longer to clog up than conventional metal filters.
We guarantee for 5 years, your Aqua Clic will not clog up!

Frequently Asked Question’s for Aqua Showers

How do I know how much water my old shower uses?
Take a 9lt bucket, turn the cold water tap on full and time how long it takes until the water gets up to the 9lt mark. Turn shower off.
If it took 20 seconds to fill the 9lt bucket, multiply the 9lts by 3 (3 x 20 seconds = 1 minute): 9 x 3 = 27lt per minute.

How much water does an Aqua Clic Shower use?
Aqua Clic Shower uses only 6lt per minute without any discomfort.
I have an old wall showerhead and would like to replace it with an Aqua Clic Shower. Do I need a plumber to change it?
No, a plumber is not required:
a)   Unscrew the old showerhead and remove old plumbing tape.
b)   Place a solid layer of new plumbing tape clockwise on the thread.
c)   Screw the wall mount on until the hose connection point is at a 45 degree angle
(right or left) to the showerhead holder. We recommend to have the wall mount at
an angle (left or right) to prevent the hose rubbing against itself, so the
showerhead is unlikely to fall out of the shower holder.
d)   Connect the rippled end of the hose on to wall mount and the smooth side to the
shower head (this will ensure a free turning showerhead and the hose will not
      tangle up).
e)   Included accessories will allow you to change the quantity of water flow and the type of
jet spray (Please consult booklet on page 31).

I  already have a shower with a hose. Do I need to replace the lot?
No, simply remove the actual showerhead and connect the Aqua Clic Shower to the hose.
We only recommend replacing damaged hose’s.
